THE ABSOLUTE (H438) when questioned, rider reported that the intention was to hold a forward position, but on jumping his mount blundered when struck itself and as a result made contact with a runner and lost ground. He said as a consequence he elected to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid making use of his mount to go forward. He added throughout the early stages his mount over-raced as he endeavoured to obtain cover and for that reason rather than continuing to restrain his mount to obtain cover he elected to allow his mount to stride forward from the 900M to obtain a trailing position behind a runner. He stated although obliged to race in a three wide position, he was able to obtain cover throughout the middle stages and when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount lay out and finished the race off only fairly. After the race was noted to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 586.
VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) jumped awkwardly. After the 200M shifted in, resulted in its rider having to stop riding and straighten. After the race, rider reported that his intention was to hold a more forward position, but when unable to find cover in the early stages he was obliged to settle further back in order to obtain a position with cover. He added when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount found it difficult to make up ground from back in the field. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 628.
WAR OF COURAGE (C483) over the final 100M lay in and proved difficult to ride out to the finish - Race 599.
MEEPMEEP (H234) jumped only fairly. When questioned, rider stated that at its first race start his mount raced greenly and lay out in the Home Straight after making an inside run. He said from the 600M his mount hung in and on the Home Turn proved reluctant to shift to the outside of a runner. He added that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount continued to hang in which restricted his ability to fully test his mount, particularly when it was racing on the wrong lead leg. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Racing manners were considered unacceptable. Has since performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 221.
STARMEN (J199) near the 450M was bumped. After the race, rider reported that his mount would appreciate being stepped up in distance for its next race start. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 564.
GREAT ACHIEVER (J049) after the race, rider stated that his mount, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, over-raced badly throughout the early and middle stages and got its head up when being positioned close to a runner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 611.
VULCANUS (J150) bumped on jumping. Between the 300M and the 200M raced tight - Race 650.
HOSS (H055) between the 400M and the 350M had difficulty obtaining clear running when shifted out - Race 664.
HIGH RISE POWER (H353) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, rider reported that his mount did not travel well during the event and after the race was found to have its tongue over the bit - Race 602.
GAMEPLAYER WARRIOR (J178) shortly after the start was steadied when racing tight - Race 613.
PARTERRE (E234) after the race an endoscopic exam was conducted and that exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 605.
