Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (611) - DAEGU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 MA COMET (H391) B Avdulla Near the 300 Metres was eased to avoid LEAN MASTER which shifted out and away from FORTUNE WARRIOR after being taken out by that runner.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 2 FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 CHARITY FOR ALL (H417) K C Leung Slow to begin.
Near the 600 Metres when racing tight to the inside of STRIVE FOR GLORY was steadied and then ran out across the heels of STRIVE FOR GLORY and was checked.
Horse No 4 GRAND NOVA (J323) H Bowman After mounting H Bowman was dislodged in the Parade Ring without incident.
Jumped only fairly.
Near the 600 Metres was checked to avoid CHARITY FOR ALL.
When commencing to finish the race off well became held up for clear running behind GREAT ACHIEVER over the final 100 Metres and as a result could not be tested to the finish of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 FAIRY HORSE (J144) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Near the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid STRIVE FOR GLORY.
Horse No 7 STRIVE FOR GLORY (D186) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly.
Approaching the winning post FAIRY HORSE (A Atzeni) improved into a narrow run between STRIVE FOR GLORY and MA COMET and then was taken in slightly when MA COMET was crowded by LEAN MASTER (H Bentley).
A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care to ensure that there is sufficient racing room when he improved into runs.
H Bentley was advised he must stop riding and straighten when his mounts shift ground when not clear to do so.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 GREAT ACHIEVER (J049) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that his mount, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, over-raced badly throughout the early and middle stages and got its head up when being positioned close to LEAN MASTER.

Horse No 9 LEAN MASTER (H134) H Bentley Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 10 CIRCUIT SEVEN (D474) M F Poon Bumped at the start.

Sergeant Pepper closed nicely from midfield to overhaul Fortune Warrior 30m out for a third career win over the Valley 1,000m. He did put the writing on the wall when finding only one too good two runs ago under claimer Ellis Wong Chi-wang. Punted late, Fortune Warrior wouldn't go down without a fight after easily finding the lead from gate 12. It was a return to form but he did win off an identical mark in November. Lean Master kept on well for third after prompting the pace without cover from gate 11. It was another genuine effort following a switch to the Valley 1,000m. Great Achiever ran on steadily for fourth after over-racing early when travelling one off in midfield. He is steadily coming to hand. Philos kept on next best after a box-seat run. He had every chance but it was still his best effort from six starts. Post-time favourite Gorgeous Vitality ran on without threatening after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. He's lost his zest for racing. Ma Comet kept on all right after a prominent run wide without cover.
