Race Eight : (539) - MA TAU KOK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 GALLANT WAKING (G165) E C W Wong From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 QUANTUM PATCH (H166) Z Purton After the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind ALL BEAUTY.
Approaching the 250 Metres was briefly held up for clear running when improving into a tight run between ALL BEAUTY and TRUE GENIUS.
Horse No 7 STAR CONTACT (E472) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.
After the 300 Metres was steadied when held up for clear running and being shifted to the outside of LUCKY EIGHT.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 LUCKY EIGHT (G204) M F Poon Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 9 ALL BEAUTY (E355) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly, shifted in, made contact with the hindquarters of LUCKY EIGHT and became unbalanced.
Near the 1500 Metres got its head up when crowded between STAR CONTACT which shifted out slightly and QUANTUM PATCH which was racing tight to the inside of ROMANTIC LAOS (K C Leung).
K C Leung was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, ALL BEAUTY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 12 ZOOM BOOM (G131) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.
For a short distance approaching the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving between SHOW RESPECT and ESCAPE ROUTE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 NEVER TOO SOON (E434) K De Melo Was a late withdrawal acting on veterinary advice after sustaining wounds to both hind legs whilst being transported to the course.
Before being allowed to race again, NEVER TOO SOON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Show Respect took control 150m out after getting all favours in the box seat from gate one for a second straight win despite a return to Class Three. He's come into his own now and can win again. Zoom Boom ran on nicely for second after peeling into the open 200m out following a run on the rail in midfield. He relished a return to the course of a past 1,200m win after going better in his past three runs at Sha Tin. Quantum Patch finished well to fill a placing after getting held up early when he was ridden for luck from gate nine. It was a return to form after two below-par efforts. Tourbillon Prince grudgingly gave way after getting away with cheap fractions in front from gate three. It was another honest performance over the Valley 1,650m. Gallant Waking ran on widest and just missed the frame after biding his time second last from gate 11. He's always a chance over the Valley 1,650m. Star Contact made some ground without threatening after biding his time three from the rear. Escape Route didn't offer much of a challenge after stalking the pace. He requires a wet track.
