Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (477) - TRANS-ISLAND CHINALINK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) H Bowman Approaching the 1600 Metres was steadied when crowded by RUNNING AHEAD which was taken in by AMAZING TEENS which shifted in before being corrected by its rider A Badel.
After the race, H Bowman stated that his mount raced keenly in the early stages but then settled through the middle stages.
He added that ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE did not respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 DARCI JOY (E161) A Hamelin Near the 300 Metres lay in when being directed to the outside of ROYAL PRIDE to obtain clear running and approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed between ROYAL PRIDE and RUNNING AHEAD which shifted in.
Horse No 3 SERANGOON (H296) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 500 Metres was unable to proceed forward for a short distance when positioned behind V LOVE YOU which was giving ground.
Over the final 150 Metres lay in and near the 100 Metres shifted in and made contact with PEGASUS GENERAL.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 SUPER BABY (G364) L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 ROYAL PRIDE (E351) M L Yeung After the race, M L Yeung reported that his instructions were to take up a forward position.
He said when RUNNING AHEAD held its position to his inside, ROYAL PRIDE was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Trainer C Fownes confirmed the instructions issued.
Trainer C Fownes will be interviewed relative to ROYAL PRIDE being presented and racing with a hood, not part of its approved racing gear.

Horse No 11 V LOVE YOU (J048) B Thompson Jumped only fairly and in the early stages raced tight to the inside of KYRUS UNICORN which shifted in and away from ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE.
Horse No 12 AROMATICA (H437) K C Leung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After stalking the pace, Amazing Teens made headway 700m out, skipped two lengths clear upon straightening and kept up a strong gallop for a fifth career win. He lived up to two earlier seconds over this course this term. Serangoon ran on nicely with one wider out for second after making his run from towards the rear. It was another good effort off a slow pace following a last-start win. Pegasus General finished well with two wider out but just missed second after a wide trip travelling three from the rear. He is well rated on a win last season over this course and distance. Running Ahead lost a placing late after a handy run one off the fence. He's not far off a bottom. Favourite Kyrus Unicorn had his chance after a prominent run on the fence but only plugged on at one pace. He had no excuse. Punted late, Darci Joy ran on steadily without threatening after travelling on the rail in midfield. He tends to show his best at Sha Tin. To Infinity made some ground late from towards the rear. Specked late, Royal Pride will sleep well after getting posted wide without cover sitting near the speed.
