Punted late Blue Marlin just held off Magnificent Nine after progressing nicely along the inside from behind midfield to lead 250m out for a fourth win this season. He's racing in terrific form and should hold his own up in grade off a light weight. Favourite Magnificent Nine ran on nicely near the outside after a one-off trip from behind midfield to make it close on the wire. He's a winner waiting to happen. Rank outsider Huge Wave stayed on nicely for third settling one off from midfield. It was a vastly improved effort with a step back in distance at his second local start. Superb Kid made good ground late near the inside for fourth after biding his time one from the rear. He got too far out of his ground. Righteous Arion ran on reasonably well to finish next best after making his run five back and one off the fence. Comet Splendido ran on without threatening after turning the final bend with three behind midfield. It was a pleasing effort first up in 133 days after a nosebleed in October. Windicator Family made some ground from the rear of the field.

Horse No 3 SUPER WINNER (C341) K H Chan A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) A Atzeni Near the 900 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid RIGHTEOUS ARION.

Horse No 5 EXCELLENT FIGHTER (G343) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 6 SUPERB KID (H298) K Teetan Shortly after the start was crowded by COMET SPLENDIDO which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

Approaching the 300 Metres improved into a narrow run to the inside of SUPER WINNER and raced tight between SUPER WINNER and SAKEWIN for some distance thereafter and was held up for clear running.

Then lay out for some distance thereafter and proved difficult to ride out to the finish of the event.

Horse No 7 CITY THUNDER (J173) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.

In the early stages over-raced and got its head up when racing wide and without cover.

Horse No 8 E LEGEND (G028) C L Chau A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 SAKEWIN (G275) M L Yeung Lay out under pressure in the Home Straight.

Horse No 10 EXCEL WONGCHOY (J194) K C Leung Making the Home Turn was bumped and taken wider by BLUE MARLIN which shifted out to improve.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) Z Purton Near the 900 Metres was shifted out when being steadied away from HUGH WAVE.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 RIGHTEOUS ARION (H059) Y L Chung Near the 800 Metres MAGNIFICENT NINE shifted out when being steadied away from HUGE WAVE.

A short distance later, RIGHTEOUS ARION, which was racing keenly, improved to the inside of MAGNIFICENT NINE and was then steadied when MAGNIFICENT NINE shifted back in.

Horse No 14 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) A Badel From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 250 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when it improved behind SUPER WINNER.

Again near the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running behind COMET SPLENDIDO when that runner shifted out.
