Punted late, Noble Pursuit settled in midfield and kept finding after surging forward three wide for a third win from his past four starts and back-to-back vicories following a switch to the Valley. He's got a bright future. Turin Mascot weaved after settling near last from gate 11 to edge favourite Flamingo Trillion for second. Flamingo Trillion tracked the speed, briefly hit the front and grudgingly gave way near the 200m marker. He's a winner waiting to happen with placings in his past three starts across both tracks. Romantic Laos made a steady bid for fourth after settling one off the fence behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over this course. All Beauty came from last and very wide out to just miss a spot in the first four. It was another honest effort despite a rise in trip. Escape Route just plodded over the final 150m after travelling on the rail in midfield. Accolade Start made some ground without threatening with one wider out after biding his time two from the rear. Following a handy run, Hameron was one paced over the last 150m after racing in tight quarters.

Horse No 1 HAMERON (H265) L Ferraris After the race, L Ferraris stated that with the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard, when the pace increased from the 500 Metres, HAMERON was unable to finish the race off strongly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 PRIME MINISTER (D288) E C W Wong Bumped on jumping.

Held up making the Home Turn.

Near the 100 Metres was held up behind ROMANTIC LAOS and was steadied for a short distance.

Horse No 3 TURIN MASCOT (H165) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Making the Home Turn raced tight to the inside of HAMERON.

On straightening was disappointed for clear running to the inside of HAMERON and shifted to that runner's outside where it secured a clear run passing the 300 Metres.

Horse No 11 FLAMINGO TRILLION (H192) K C Leung When questioned, K C Leung stated that near the 1300 Metres when being crossed by MAJESTIC VICTORY, his mount lay in and away from that runner, made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.
