Race Five : (392) - DAFFODIL HANDICAP - Class 3 - 2000Meters
Horse No 1 ELLIPTICAL (J052) H Bowman After the race, H Bowman could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to finish the race off.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
Horse No 2 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) H Bentley From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 SIMPLE HEDGE (H237) Z Purton Near the 1700 Metres was steadied when crowded by SWAN BAY which, after being taken in by ESCAPE ROUTE (J McDonald), shifted in away from that runner slightly.
J McDonald was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 1600 Metres was then eased to allow SWAN BAY and ESCAPE ROUTE to cross.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 SWAN BAY (H062) A Badel After the race, A Badel stated that his mount may not have been suited by racing in a more forward position today from an inside barrier.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 BILLIONAIRE SECRET (G303) M Barzalona Jumped awkwardly.
After the race, M Barzalona could offer no excuse for his mount's performance.

Horse No 11 GALLANT HERO (E480) K Teetan From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages and when being shifted behind made contact with KA YING GENERATION.

Ka Ying Generation kept finding to just defeat favourite Simple Hedge after moving to the lead underneath the 200m following a prominent run for a first local win. Simple Hedge was closing with every stride for second after making his run from better than midfield on the fence. He had no issues with a step up to 2,000m after back-to-back placings over 1,600m. Intrepid Winner ran on nicely for third after a patient ride three from the rear. He's having a good campaign. Gallant Hero made a nice bid late for fourth after making his run two from the rear on the fence. It was another honest effort, but he'll be looking forward to a return to Class Four. Enigma gradually faded after setting a genuine pace from gate seven. It was a better effort at his fourth local run. Awesome Fluke came from last to finish next best. He's produced mixed results in five starts. Escape Route just plodded when asked for an effort following a speed-chasing run. He's better ridden a bit more quietly around midfield or further back. Punted late Swan Bay found nothing when push came to shove after a speed-tracking run on the fence. He's mixing his form.
