Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Lyrical Motion took control 150m out after a handy run on the fence for a first Hong Kong win on his 20th local start. It was an overdue victory after placing in all of his three runs for the Caspar Fownes yard. He can win again. Happy Trio stayed on well for second after a prominent run one off the fence. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley's 1,200m. High Rise Soldier jumped out of his skin late to get up for third after he was given a patient ride in third last from gate 11. From his past two runs, he appears to be near a bottom. Colonel grudgingly gave way after getting pestered for the lead by Hero Star. It was one of his better runs this term. Wood On Fire came through the middle from near last to pick up a minor cheque. It was good effort carrying top weight. Tattenham finished the next best down the outside after settling one off the rail in midfield. Kilindini was disappointing after getting all the favours tracking the speed with cover. Punted late, See U Again was a non-factor after getting posted wide without cover behind midfield.
