Recap by phillip woo

Healthy Healthy rushed forward from gate 11, hit the lead near the 100m marker and scrambled home ahead of fast-finishing Ernest Feeling to record his second win from his past three starts over Happy Valley's 1,200m. Ernest Feeling closed strongly after his rail run in midfield. He has caught the eye in both of his starts since joining Jamie Richards from Richard Gibson. Lyrical Motion had his chance after his handy run on the fence but found a couple too good. He keeps promising without winning. Kilindini stayed on well for fourth after travelling in the box seat and getting held up for a run until 200m out. His heavy weight took its toll despite his return to Class Four. Party Warrior closed off reasonably well after his rail run behind midfield. He is not far off a bottom. Early favourite Prince Chiswick gradually faded over the final 100m after finding the front from gate seven. His switch to Happy Valley did not quite have the desired result. Happy Trio came up one-paced after his prominent run. He did not lift carrying five pounds more than last time. Karis Teetan eased down Wood On Fire soon after straightening.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (228) - GREAT BRITAIN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 SIGHT HERO (D487) J McDonald A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

Horse No 2 WOOD ON FIRE (C460) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan reported that making the first turn he became concerned with his mount's action when it ran out.

He said along the Back Straight WOOD ON FIRE raced ungenerously and then when not in a competitive position was eased down in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of WOOD ON FIRE was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, WOOD ON FIRE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 3 KILINDINI (E236) M Barzalona Held up between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres behind PRINCE CHISWICK.

Horse No 4 PARTY WARRIOR (E368) C Y Ho Approaching the 50 Metres was briefly held up for clear running behind LYRICAL MOTION.

Horse No 6 HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.

Z Purton was questioned as to whether he had ridden his mount out fully to the end of the race.

Z Purton explained that over the concluding stages his mount shifted ground and he was concerned that his whip may have struck LYRICAL MOTION which was positioned directly to his outside.

He said as a consequence he stopped riding HEALTHY HEALTHY with the whip and then commenced to push out hands and heels.

Z Purton was advised that, wherever possible, he should ensure that he rides his mounts out fully to the finish of the race.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 7 GOLDEN RISE (H242) B Avdulla When questioned, B Avdulla stated that from the outside barrier he was given the option to endeavour to find a forward position.

He said after jumping fairly, GOLDEN RISE did not show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position and as a result was left racing three wide entering the Back Straight.

He said when he observed Z Purton, rider of HEALTHY HEALTHY, continued a forward move, he then elected to steady his mount to obtain a trailing position behind HARMONY N HOME near the 800 Metres to avoid racing wide and without cover at which point GOLDEN RISE raced keenly and this resulted in GOLDEN RISE settling further back than intended.

He added after improving to the outside in the Home Straight GOLDEN RISE ran on reasonably well.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 ERNEST FEELING (E209) A Hamelin Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 HARMONY N HOME (C531) C L Chau C L Chau, who weighed in at 121 lbs, was fined the sum of $3,000 for returning to scale 2 lbs overweight.

Horse No 11 DIAMOND DIAMOND (H189) H Doyle Slow to begin.

Near the 750 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied away from GOLDEN RISE.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 LYRICAL MOTION (G081) A Badel Bumped shortly after the start.

Over the concluding stages shifted in towards HEALTHY HEALTHY and was awkwardly placed for a short distance afterwards.
