Recap by phillip woo

Even money favourite Son Pak Fu was again too smart after hitting the front 150m out after travelling fifth along the fence for a fourth straight win despite a rise in class. He'll remain in the class and can win again. Hameron ran on nicely near the inside to grab second 100m out from behind midfield. It was an eye-catching performance on Hong Kong debut. Juneau Flash stayed on nicely for a placing despite getting caught wide without cover from midfield. It was a better effort. Jumbo Fortune came from last and widest out at the top of the straight to finish next best without threatening the top three. It was a typical performance. Cobhfield got going late to pick up a minor cheque after a wide run with cover beyond midfield. He can produce the odd good run over this Valley trip. Our Lucky Glory made some ground without threatening after a one-off run from behind midfield. Jumbo Legend was short of room late but wasn't making a major impression late after a patient ride two from the rear. Specked late, Metro Warrior didn't get the trip after finding the front from gate 10. He' s a 1,000m horse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (613) - INCHEON HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

COBHFIELD jumped only fairly and then was bumped by JUMBO FORTUNE which shifted out.

Shortly after the start, JUNEAU FLASH raced tight to the inside of METRO WARRIOR when that runner shifted in, resulting in JUNEAU FLASH being taken in and crowding VALIANT ELEGANCE.

JUNEAU FLASH was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

JUMBO LEGEND brushed the running rail approaching the 1000 Metres.

Making the first turn, JUNEAU FLASH, which was racing keenly, shifted out when being steadied to avoid the heels of BEAUTY GLORY when that runner was taken out by OUR LUCKY GLORY which made the turn awkwardly.

OUR LUCKY GLORY then continued to race ungenerously in the middle stages and for some distance near the 600 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from POWER KOEPP.

Near the 600 Metres, BEAUTY GLORY shifted out and bumped COBHFIELD.

JUNEAU FLASH raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

After the race, H T Mo (TELECOM SPIRIT) reported that his instructions from a wide barrier were to take up a forward position.

Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed that he had instructed Jockey Mo to go forward on TELECOM SPIRIT and take advantage of the light weight tonight.

Also after the race, M Chadwick (BEAUTY GLORY) reported that his mount failed to travel well at any stage of the event and raced in a disappointing manner.

A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY GLORY immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

Following the race, L Currie (JUMBO LEGEND) reported that from the inside barrier his mount settled slightly further back than what had been intended.

He said JUMBO LEGEND failed to respond to his riding in the Straight and was somewhat disappointing although held up towards the finish between POWER KOEPP and OUR LUCKY GLORY.

A veterinary inspection of JUMBO LEGEND immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer??which had previously been reported.

After the race, OUR LUCKY GLORY was noted to have sustained a laceration to its left hind leg.

SON PAK FU and HAMERON were sent for sampling.
