Recap by phillip woo

Run Run Good had enough left in the tank to hold off Regency Gem after hitting the front 100m out with his move 600m out following a wide trip four from the rear for a first win at his 24th start. He had run well to place last start on the turf and relished a return to the dirt. Regency Gem made it close on the wire after jumping really well by his standards to travel fourth along the fence. He was able to build on fifths in his past two starts. El Valiente was just out-finished for second after making his run from behind midfield on the fence. He's given a good sight in two starts after fetlock surgery and can bob up shortly. Colourful Baron ran on late to fill the frame without threatening the top three after wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He'll be a force to be reckoned with from a better draw. Medic Elite turned the final bend three lengths on top after reclaiming the lead 900m out but was stopping 100m out. It wasn't a bad run trying the dirt for the first time but he has had a lot of racing. Punted late Fortune Marbo ran on without menacing after a one-off trip from behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race One: (369) - GIANT TREASURE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters

FORTUNE MARBO, which was leaning on the outside of its stall as the start was effected, began awkwardly.

REGENCY GEM and MEDIC ELITE bumped on jumping.

SIMPLE DOCTRINE began awkwardly and shifted out, resulting in U W BROTHER being taken out onto COLOURFUL BARON which became unbalanced when crowded for room inside GOLD COMET which was also hampered.

After this, SIMPLE DOCTRINE was shifted across behind runners.

Also from the outside barrier, WIN WIN CHARITY was steadied for some distance in the early stages to obtain cover.

After being steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail, SPEED FORCE (S De Sousa) was ridden along for a considerable distance approaching and passing the winning post on the first occasion to maintain its position.

After the race, S De Sousa stated that SPEED FORCE was reluctant to stretch out in today's race and did not feel comfortable in its action.

A veterinary inspection of SPEED FORCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, SPEED FORCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Making the turn near the 700 Metres, LUCKY VICTOR and WAH MAY LUCK bumped as LUCKY VICTOR shifted out from behind U W BROTHER.

Then passing the 700 Metres, LUCKY VICTOR became unbalanced when crowded for room between WAH MAY LUCK and U W BROTHER.

Near the 650 Metres, SPEED FORCE was awkwardly placed behind EL VALIENTE.

Then passing the 500 Metres, SPEED FORCE was checked away from the heels of U W BROTHER which gave ground abruptly.

After this, U W BROTHER continued to give ground and finished tailed out.

A veterinary inspection of U W BROTHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of U W BROTHER was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, U W BROTHER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Near the 500 Metres, RUN RUN GOOD was bumped by JUBILATION which shifted to the outside of LUCKY VICTOR in an attempt to obtain clear running.

When unable to shift out, JUBILATION (Z Purton) was then awkwardly placed behind LUCKY VICTOR approaching the 400 Metres.

After the race, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, JUBILATION's performance today was due to the horse not being suited dropping back in distance.

He was of the view that JUBILATION's best performances have been in races over longer distances than that of today's race and accordingly the horse would be better suited over further ground.

A veterinary inspection of JUBILATION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

At the 450 Metres, COLOURFUL BARON and LUCKY VICTOR bumped.

Near the 150 Metres, L Ferraris' riding out of EL VALIENTE was restricted when racing tight inside WAH MAY LUCK which travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.

The performance of WIN WIN CHARITY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

A veterinary inspection of WIN WIN CHARITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, WIN WIN CHARITY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of LUCKY VICTOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

JUBILATION, RUN RUN GOOD and REGENCY GEM were sent for sampling.
