Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Nearly Fine came on strongly from towards the rear to overhaul Packing Famous in deep stretch for the win. He's capable on his day. Packing Famous found one just too good after moving to the front near the 100m following a prominent run along the fence. It was a return to form after misfiring last time out with blood in his trachea. Comet Splendido finished well from behind midfield to just miss second. He's made a good impression in his three starts and will be saluting shortly. Romantic Combo stayed on reasonably well for fourth after a one-off trip better than midfield. He's honest as the day is long. Zone D dashed late to just miss the frame making his run two from the rear. He was in need of the run off a lengthy break. Viva Hunter weakened over the last 100m after working hard to lead 1,300m out from a wide draw. He had an excuse but is likely on or near his mark. Above made some ground late without menacing from the rear of the field. He requires a longer trip. World Famous faded after tracking the leader. He's likely on his mark.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (17) - REPULSE BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

NEARLY FINE bumped the outside of its gate on jumping and consequently began only fairly.

WORLD FAMOUS shifted out at the start and bumped NOTHING NEW.

After travelling a short distance, ABOVE was steadied away from the heels of COMET SPLENDIDO which shifted out after initially being directed out by NOTHING NEW.

NOTHING NEW was ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position and after the 1300 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

Near the 1050 Metres, NOTHING NEW got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of WORLD FAMOUS.

Approaching the 500 Metres, ABOVE momentarily raced in restricted room inside ZONE D.

COMET SPLENDIDO had some difficulty obtaining clear running after the 300 Metres.

Passing the 250 Metres, RED MAJESTY was shifted out away from the heels of LOYAL BABY.

After the race, L Currie reported that he was given two sets of instructions on how to ride RED MAJESTY tonight, namely that if RED MAJESTY began well, he should ride the horse in a forward position, however, if RED MAJESTY did not begin satisfactorily, he should steady his mount and obtain cover from a wide barrier.

He said on jumping RED MAJESTY got its head up on a number of occasions and as LOYAL BABY to its outside began better than RED MAJESTY, he elected to shift RED MAJESTY across behind runners.

A veterinary inspection of NOTHING NEW, VIVA HUNTER and LOYAL BABY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

NEARLY FINE and PACKING FAMOUS were sent for sampling.
