Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on pop Master Eight kept up a strong gallop after finding the front 1,000m out to remain unbeaten in two starts. He clearly has a bright future. The Golden Scenery was closing with every stride for second after a handy run on the fence. It was a superb effort on debut after winning two of three starts in Australia. Fearless Fire made ground from behind midfield to finish a non-threatening third. He's having a terrific campaign and this was a good run over an inadequate trip. Quadruple Double kept on all right for fourth after a pace-stalking run. It was his best performance of the campaign but he didn't beat much in behind. Debutant Mister Snowdon came on nicely settling last from a wide draw to earn a minor cheque. It was a nice initial introduction to local racing off one trial. Chicken Dance came up one-paced when asked for an effort following a one-off run in midfield. He's not the same horse this season after a tendon injury.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (754) - HAP MUN BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

RED TITAN shifted in at the start and bumped FEARLESS FIRE.

MASTER EIGHT shifted out at the start and brushed PERFECT GLORY.

From the outside barrier, MISTER SNOWDON was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

H Bentley (SUPER WIN DRAGON) reported that when being steadied to obtain cover in the early stages, his saddle shifted back shortly after the start.

Approaching the 900 Metres, REGENCY BO BO was shifted out away from the heels of PERFECT GLORY (N Callan) which shifted in when not properly clear.

N Callan was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

After this, REGENCY BO BO was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 600 Metres, PERFECT GLORY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of QUADRUPLE DOUBLE which shifted out away from the heels of MASTER EIGHT.

MASTER EIGHT lay out rounding the Home Turn.

Near the 150 Metres, QUADRUPLE DOUBLE raced tight outside the heels of THE GOLDEN SCENERY which shifted out under pressure.

After the race, Z Purton stated that carrying top weight today and having to race wide and without cover resulted in REGENCY BO BO then not being able to finish off the race.

A veterinary inspection of REGENCY BO BO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MASTER EIGHT and THE GOLDEN SCENERY were sent for sampling.
