AEW: Jon Moxley says WWE ‘made me walk away from all this money’

  • The former WWE champion says he was bitter about his exit, not excited
  • ‘Can you not just write one good storyline? Does everything have to make me look like an idiot?’

Jon Moxley got a lot off his chest when he left WWE for AEW. And now he’s launched another verbal barrage at his former employers.

Speaking at the Starrcast IV wrestling convention in Baltimore last week ahead of AEW’s Full Gear pay-per-view, Moxley vented about the frustrations he experienced during his final year in the company after coming back from injury.

“The whole time from when I came back to about the beginning of the year, I knew I was leaving. But I was p***** about it. I wasn't excited to leave, I was bitter about it,” he said.

“I can't believe that they're going to make me leave. I can't believe they're going to make me walk away from all this money.”

Then wrestling as Dean Ambrose as part of The Shield, the former WWE champion opted not to sign a new contract earlier this year and walked away in April when his deal expired, becoming the first big name acquisition to join AEW from WWE.

“Can [WWE] not write just one good storyline? Can they just give me one good promo? Does everything have to be f****** stupid? Does everything have to make me look like an idiot?” he added.

“For f***’s sake, you're going to make me walk away from all this f****** money because it's not like I wanted that money. Yeah, I want it, but I'm not doing that s***.

“So I was p*****. I can't believe they were so incompetent that they're going to make me walk away from all this money. Jesus Christ, now I have to go back to the indies, f*** it, let's go.”
