A. Lange & Söhne’s updated Lange 1 Moon Phase timepiece is in a calibre of its own
Launching at this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) is the new calibre L121.3 featured in the updated Lange 1 Moon Phase. The new manufacture calibre, made of 438 parts – 70 of which support the moonphase display – is revealed through the crystal sapphire case back.
The movement is based on the new Lange 1 movement introduced two years ago. The original Lange 1 movement was created over two decades ago. The new Lange 1 movement, however, was entirely redesigned featuring the manufacturer’s famous in-house hairspring. Now, like the new Lange 1, the Lange 1 Moon Phase also runs on a new calibre featuring the updated escapement.
The solid-silver dial features luminous time and power reserve indications, an outsize date, the moonphase display and the day/night indicator. Manually-wound, the watch boasts a power reserve of 72 hours.
The Lange 1 Moon Phase is available in white gold/black, pink gold/argente, platinum/rhodie case/dial combinations.
