Late last year, Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal welcomed twins into the world. Now, as babies Krishna and Aadiya prepare to celebrate their first birthdays on November 19, let’s take a moment to look back at some of the most extravagant moments in their lives so far.

The “Adventures of Aadiya and Krishna” closet

Isha is, of course, the daughter of former world’s richest person Mukesh Ambani. The 32-year-old heiress is heavily entrenched in her father’s business and forms part of a broader leadership succession structure that will see her focus on the retail arm of the business.
Shortly after Krishna and Aadiya were born, it was revealed that her grandparents Mukesh and luxury handbag-loving Nita went all out to spoil the twins. According to the Times of India, the pair were gifted a customised closet with specially selected wallpaper. Standing 1.5 metres, the closet bore the words “Adventures of Aadiya and Krishna”, and was stuffed with teddies and artificial flowers in pastel colours.

Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal kept their baby news close to their hearts, only revealing publicly that they were expecting near the end of the pregnancy. Isha gave birth in the US and flew back to India a month later. According to The Economic Times, the family chartered a special Qatar Airways flight for a team of doctors to travel with the new parents and their babies from Los Angeles to Mumbai.

When you’ve had Beyoncé give a private performance at your wedding, you can bet all the stops will be pulled out for your homecoming with two bundles of joy in tow. Isha’s house, Karuna Sindhu, in the trendy Worli area, was decorated with flowers, giant props and toys for the babies. The housekeeping staff were in full attendance for the new generation of Ambanis to be welcomed into their home.

The Ambani family are observant Hindus who attend temple and put a great deal of store in their faith. With the two little ones joining the family, it was reported that the Ambanis held a special puja at their Worli home – a worship ritual performed by Hindus where an offering is made. According to Times Now, priests from some of India’s most famous temples were brought in specially to perform the puja for the twins.

The Ambani twins play in a luxury nursery

For Ambani babies, designer clothes are par for the course. The Economic Times reported that the twins had closets filled with luxury brands including Gucci, Loro Piana and Dolce & Gabbana. The publication further reported that Chicago-based architectural firm Perkins + Will designed the nursery, which was fitted with rotating beds and automated rooftops. The babies also have exclusively designed BMW car seats to go with the toy cars in their nursery.

Aadiya’s gold-laden lucky hamper

Being the grandchild to one of the richest men on the planet certainly does come with its benefits. After news of the birth of the twins hit the media, the Ambani family were flooded with well wishes and gifts. But there was one gift in particular that stood out.

Aadiya was presented with a hamper with her name written in Hindi on a red-painted structure. The hamper reportedly had nine steps, each referencing a different name of the goddess Shakti, as well as 108 golden bells representing each of the chants from the Hindu Vedas. The gift made headlines as it paid homage to baby Ambani’s heritage and illustrated that despite wealth, culture and tradition trump money.
