2017’s most expensive US home is on the market again – here’s what you get for a US$188 million price tag
Lavish is an understatement for this 38,000 sq ft mansion in Los Angeles, developed by American real estate developer and handbag tycoon Bruce Makowsky.
The humungous dwelling, nestled in the exclusive Bel Air enclave, was the most expensive home in the United States when it listed for US$250 million in 2017. The neighbourhood is known for its well-heeled residents, such as Elon Musk, and Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
The fully furnished turnkey property, which resurfaced on the market after the first buyer withdrew from the contract, now ranks third in the pecking order with a 25 per cent reduction to $188 million, according to Top Ten Real Estate Deals.
Here’s what comes with the price tag:
- 2 master suites
- 10 VIP guest suites
- 40-seat 4K Dolby Atmos Theatre
- 270-degree unobstructed view to the stretches of Malibu beaches from the San Gabriel Mountains
- 1 massage studio and wellness spa
- 21 bathrooms
- 3 gourmet kitchens
- 4-lane bowling alley
- 5 bars
- 1 gym
- 85-foot (26-metre) glass tiled infinity pool
- More than 100 curated art installations
- US$30 million in cars and motorcycles
If that is not enough, the swanky address on 924 Bel Air Road sweetens the deal with a games room whose walls are lined with glass cylinders loaded with your favourite candies, a helicopter at your disposal, two fully-stocked wine-and-Champagne cellars and a seven-staff team which includes a personal chef and a masseuse for two years counting from ownership. The best part? Their salaries have already been paid for; or, in another way, included in your US$188 million disbursement.
