Style Edit: Omega’s watches for spring extend its space saga, from using meteorite material on Constellation dials to a new Speedmaster Moonwatch first seen on James Bond’s wrist

As nature comes to life in spring, so too does our fashion. A more colourful, lighter look calls for accessories accentuating the spring palette. Watches and jewellery are ways to transform a look, turning it from casual to relaxed or sophisticated.

Omega’s range of timepieces, both for women and men, provides that great accent to liven up the season.

The Omega Constellation Meteorite collection and a new Speedmaster Moonwatch with white dial are bright and beautiful options for adding a focal point to any spring look.

Inspired by the movement of stars, the Constellation collection has long been an icon of class and elegance at Omega. This year, the long-standing collection sees new interpretations, further drawing upon the inspiration that first ignited its creation. The watchmaker makes use of material from the Muonionalusta meteorite, said to be one of the oldest known meteorites on Earth at over 4.5 billion years old, crafting it into beautiful dials that are each entirely unique thanks to their irreplaceable patterns.

Omega uses advanced colour treatment technologies to bring even more depth and visual impact to the meteorite’s material. The colour treatments in the series include rhodium-grey, Moonshine gold, an icy blue-hued number, and one in lilac.

The 20-piece line-up features five dial executions in each of the four sizes – 25mm, 28mm, 29mm and 41mm – ranging from bold to elegant to dainty. The pieces are presented in a mix of alloys, including numbers in stainless steel, and some with 18k yellow gold or Sedna gold accents.

The Omega Constellation Meteorite range feature diamonds across the bezel and as hour markers

Diamonds are set around the bezel and also used to punctuate the dial as hour markers. In the case of the 41mm Co-Axial Master Chronometer, a black ceramic bezel completes the look.

Another spring highlight from Omega is the highly anticipated white-dial Speedmaster Moonwatch. First spotted on the wrist of Omega ambassador and James Bond actor Daniel Craig late last year, this rendition of the world’s most famous chronograph features a lacquered white dial for the first time.

A long-time partner of Nasa and whose collections are heavily inspired by space exploration, Omega injects elements of this heritage into the new Speedmaster. The original Speedmaster, first created in 1957, featured a black dial with white hands designed to enhance legibility. This latest rendition of the chronograph reverses the colour theme to similar effect.

Alongside the sub-dials with black indices, the red Speedmaster name is seen across the glossy dial, another colour prominently used in Nasa astronauts’ spacesuits. A black anodised aluminium bezel crowns the piece.

At the heart of the watch is the Co-Axial Master Chronograph Calibre 3861, the latest rendition of the original Calibre 321 that ventured into space. A matching stainless steel link bracelet completes this 42mm reinvented classic. Two additional strap iterations are available, both drawing heavily upon the timepiece’s moon convention: a rubber strap with a moon surface pattern in relief on the underside for enhanced comfort on a warm spring day, and a leather strap with red-and-white top stitching.
