Style Edit: How new pieces from Van Cleef & Arpels’ Frivole collection take inspiration from nature while matching diamonds with precious alloys on rings and bracelets
Inspired by the enduring beauty of nature’s flora and fauna, Van Cleef & Arpels steps into spring with new expressions from its blossoming collection, Frivole.
A design that embraces the poetic beauty of delicate flower petals, the Frivole jewellery collection radiates with the warmth of rose gold and the crisp shimmer of white gold. Add to that the elegant accents of diamonds and precious gems, and spring is now more radiant than ever.
Five new pieces are inducted into the collection, including designs with multiple floral motifs. The corollas, flowering from rings, pendants and bracelets, are Van Cleef & Arpels’ graceful nod to the delicate beauty in nature that is often hidden in plain sight.

The delicate forms of flowers are forever cemented in precious alloy and diamonds by the incredible Van Cleef & Arpels artisans. Savoir faire unique to the house transforms the humble petal into works of bejewelled art. From the use of the maison’s gem setting approach to the delicate play on colours with the medley of rose and white gold, these new expressions of the Frivole collection lend a sunny glow and irresistible shimmer to the wearer’s skin.
Among the latest designs joining the Frivole family are the gold “7 flowers” bracelet, a between-the-finger ring in rose gold, and a two-toned “8 flowers” ring in rose and white gold accented with the brilliance of diamonds, all displaying the maison’s savoir faire.
Dragon bling: red jewellery trends just in time for Lunar New Year
Immense attention has been put into selecting and matching the diamonds as well as the mirror polish finishing – each of these dedicated crafts fuels the silhouette and shine of the designs. The result pays homage not only to nature but also to Van Cleef & Arpels’ legacy as a jeweller and an artisan.
The “7 flowers” bracelet is an arrangement of petals in varying sizes that rests on the wrist like a garland. The open cuff-style bracelet features seven buds placed symmetrically, each accented with the radiating shine of diamonds. The heart-shaped petals, adorned with gemstones, are tilted at various angles, allowing the diamonds to sparkle in every direction. The vibrancy of the design echoes the vitality of nature and mirrors the uniqueness of each and every flower in the wild.

Resplendent colours of the natural world inspire the new “8 flowers” ring, which, for the first time in the Frivole collection, takes on a mix of alloys with diamonds. The ring is expressed as a white and rose gold bouquet with diamonds set in the centre of the rose gold flowers, while the white gold corollas are paved entirely in diamonds. Each set at a different height, the flowers mimic their muse’s carefree, organic forms – the mirror-polished gold petals and the diamond blooms radiate with a brilliant glow.
In a soft shade of rose gold, this year’s new Frivole set takes on a high-shine polished finish, with a diamond floret radiating at the centre of the motif. The trio of between-the-finger ring, earrings and pendant signals the warmth and vivacity of spring.
