The Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted Hong Kong’s normally vibrant music scene, with social gatherings and international travel curtailed throughout most of 2020 to 2022. Thankfully, the past year has seen a resurgence in activity, with concerts from the likes of Post Malone, Jay Chou and the legendary Backstreet Boys.

As the world prepares to bid farewell to another year, we take a look at some notable concerts taking place in Hong Kong this November and December.

1. Junny: Blanc Asia Tour 2023, November 4

Korean-Canadian singer-songwriter Junny has written songs for some of the world’s top K-pop acts, including Shinee, IU, NCT Dream and Exo’s Suho.

After releasing his debut album Blanc in 2022, Junny has since collaborated with seasoned Korean rapper Gaeko on the song “Invitation”, which was released earlier this year.

Having completed his tour of North America and Europe, Junny will kick off his Blanc Asia Tour in Hong Kong on November 4 at Music Zone E-Max at Kitec. Tickets start from HK$480 and can be bought on Eventix.

2. Se So Neon: World Tour 2023, November 14

Korean rock group Se So Neon will be holding its first ever concert in Hong Kong this November 14, also at Kitec’s Music Zone E-Max.

BTS and K-indie sensation Hyukoh have all praised the duo’s musical abilities. Hwang So-yoon, the vocalist for Se So Neon, has collaborated with musicians including Dean, Phum Viphurit, and RM from BTS.

Standing-only tickets costs HK$490 and are available from TickCats. Following the American and European legs of its tour, the band will play Jakarta and Seoul before heading to Hong Kong.

3. Morrissey: 40 Years of Morrissey Tour, November 16

British indie music legend and “godfather of glum” Morrissey – who fronted 80s rock band The Smiths before going solo – is touring the globe to celebrate his four-decades-long career.

On November 16 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Morrissey will perform hits including “You Have Killed Me” and “First of the Gang to Die”, following the conclusion of his tour’s European, American and Australasian legs. Tickets are available from Live Nation and start from HK$799.

4. K-Hiphop Fest in Asia 2023, November 17

Fans of Korean hip hop are in for a treat, with the K-Hiphop Fest kicking off in Hong Kong this November ahead of stops in Taipei and Macau and the grand finale in South Korea. The event boasts an impressive line up consisting of Giriboy, Chillin Homie, Roh Yun-ha, Kid Milli, Han Yo-han and Lil Boi.

The event will take place at Star Hall, Kitec, on November 17. Tickets start from HK$688, available from HK Ticketing.

5. Keshi: Epilogue Tour, November 20 and 21

Known for hits including “Limbo” and “Like I Need U”, Vietnamese-American artist Keshi is staging not one, but two Epilogue Tour dates in Hong Kong due to demand.

The R&B and lo-fi artist will be playing on November 20 and 21 at AsiaWorld-Expo. Tickets start from HK$599; head over to HK Ticketing.

6. Chanyeol: FanCon Tour The Eternity, November 24 and 25

Chanyeol, a member of the popular South Korean boy band Exo, is holding his first ever solo concert in Hong Kong on November 24 and 25 – an additional date having been added due to the overwhelming response from fans.

The tour will stop in Taipei and Bangkok before making its way to Hong Kong and AsiaWorld-Expo. Tickets are available from Cityline, and start from HK$980.

7. Clockenflap, December 1 to 3

Following a stellar post-pandemic return in March this year, Hong Kong’s biggest music festival, Clockenflap, will be back again this December. The three-day festival will be headlined by international talent including US-based Japanese singer Joji, Japanese superduo Yoasobi and the English rock band Pulp.

Other acts will include Hong Kong star Faye Wong’s daughter Leah Dou, US singer Caroline Polachek, and J-pop group Wednesday Campanella.

The festival will take place from December 1 to 3 at the Central Harbourfront Event Space. Tickets start from HK$1,280 for a single day, available from the Clockenflap website.

8. Mamamoo+: 1st Fan Concert – Two Rabbits Code Asia Tour, December 20

Despite having held a concert in Hong Kong in January this year, South Korean girl group Mamamoo have announced that subgroup Mamamoo+ – consisting of members Solar and Moonbyul – will return to Hong Kong on December 20, making it the last stop on their Two Rabbits Code Asia tour.

The concert will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre with tickets starting from HK$780, available from HK Ticketing.
