Mark your calendars! Meg Ryan, the original queen of romcoms, is making her anticipated return this year with What Happens Later, set to release on November 3. It was originally slated to come out in October, but was pushed back amid the release of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert movie, per Deadline.
 

Starring Ryan and Californication and X-Files alum David Duchovny, What Happens Later tells the story of two ex-lovers who realise that they’re still attracted to each other after being snowed in at an airport overnight, states IMDB.

The American actress hasn’t appeared on screen for years since her directorial debut Ithaca in 2015, per People, so many long-time fans have been counting down the days to this momentous occasion.

1. When Harry Met Sally … (1989)

Widely considered one of the most popular romcoms out there, When Harry Met Sally is a classic that helped catapult Ryan’s acting career into the spotlight for decades to come. The plot surrounds Harry and Sally, who start off as pals before falling in love. Director Rob Reiner is credited for establishing the friends-to-lovers trope for the romcom genre.

Prelude to a Kiss is another of Ryan’s hit films. Starring a young Alec Baldwin as Ryan’s love interest, the story takes viewers on an emotional roller coaster with a supernatural twist.
