Who is Ankur Jain, the billionaire who just married an ex-WWE wrestler? The 34-year-old Bilt Rewards CEO hangs out with Floyd Mayweather and Martha Stewart, and previously worked for Tinder
Billionaire Ankur Jain is officially off the market. The young tech guru tied the knot with former WWE wrestler Erika Hammond in a picturesque ceremony in front of the Great Sphinx this weekend, per People.
“We’re New Yorkers and there’s something so special about being in a completely different world environment. So we decided, our wedding is about having a moment together to celebrate the new beginning, having a really special party with our friends somewhere where you’re in a different world,” Jain told the publication. His original pitch for the wedding was to “get married in space” he said. A-list guests included Lance Bass, Robin Thicke, Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary, and influencer Serena Kerrigan, to name a few, according to People.
As reported by British media, the couple recently shocked the internet with their extravagant week-long wedding itinerary which began with a three-night safari in South Africa, followed by a private party inside a palace in Egypt.
The 34-year-old Bilt Rewards creator and Hammond, 32, kicked off the pre-wedding celebrations by taking a private jet to the Sangita Safari Lodge at the Sabi Sand Nature Reserve with a lucky group of 68 guests, including their friends and family, per People.
The duo have been documenting the lavish events on their social media over the past few days. It’s estimated that the safari accommodation alone would’ve cost at least US$408,000 for the three nights – and that’s if they chose the cheapest room type.
Here’s everything we know about the newly married Ankur Jain and how he made his billions:
Ankur Jain is the founder and CEO of Bilt Rewards
Ankur Jain is an American entrepreneur and investor. In 2021, he founded Bilt Rewards – the “first loyalty programme that allows you to earn points on rent” – but already has his sights set on an entirely different sector …
“There is so much I want to do with Bilt first. [But] I think in the future there are two areas I find fascinating. I think we are on the verge of some pretty exciting breakthroughs with biology,” he told The Street, “When I look at the fact that today if you get Covid they can inject monoclonal antibodies into your system and you’re giving your body the tools to fight off a virus instantly that can be scaled out to so many different diseases and infections … I get pretty excited about the opportunity there.”
Before Bilt, he launched Kairos, a “venture studio for young entrepreneurs that helped launch and grow its partner companies to over US$6.5 billion, solving problems from housing to healthcare”, according to Jain’s official website.
Jain was previously the chief product officer at Tinder, a company he joined after it acquired his company, Humin.
His father was a billionaire too at one point
Per Forbes, Jain currently has a net worth of US$1.2 billion – but he’s not the only person in his family to have gained billionaire status in his lifetime.
His profile on the site points out that his father, ex Microsoft executive Naveen Jain, briefly became a billionaire in 2000 after shares rose in InfoSpace, the search engine he founded.
In a 2018 Instagram post honouring his grandfather after his death, Jain wrote: “In the photo above you can see four generations of Jains – each as tenacious as the next!”
He married a former WWE wrestler
Jain was once named the “best connected 21-year-old in the world”
