This week, it was confirmed that Gloria Allred, a famous American lawyer, would be representing the family of the girl with whom Giddey is accused of having an improper relationship, per AP.
The news comes after the Newport Beach, California, police department also confirmed that it’s conducting a further investigation into the case, according to the same source.
“The Newport Beach Police Department is aware of information being circulated online involving an alleged relationship between professional basketball player Josh Giddey and a female minor,” read the statement, “The Newport Beach Police Department is actively seeking additional information related to these allegations and pursuing all leads and evidence to obtain the facts of the case.”

Giddey, 21, hails from Melbourne, Australia. According to a the Aussie Hoopla website, he began playing the sport as a junior with his state’s basketball programme. He then received a scholarship to attend the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra in 2015, per the same source.
His parents are also athletes. His dad, Warrick Giddey, played 449 games in the NBL, while his mum, Kim, played for the Tigers in the Women’s National Basketball League, per the website.
Even his sister, Hannah, is keen on the sport, and plays for the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles.

Per Sportskeeda, Giddey didn’t go to university, but quickly found success in basketball. He was drafted sixth overall in the first round of the NBA draft in 2021.
