Asymptomatic, Elba urged the public that that was all the more reason they should practise social distancing and good hygiene because there can be a lot of people carrying the disease and infecting others without knowing it. Fans of Elba quickly started posting thirsty tweets, saying they’d gladly be quarantined with the hot star and take whatever he is infecting. Erm, not quite.

Daniel Dae Kim

The Lost and Hawaii Five-O star was the next thirst trap to reveal he was infected. Isolated in his family home, Kim assured fans he was on the path to recovery and used his platform to thank front line medical professionals for their tireless work while calling racists “cowardly” for verbally and physically attacking Asian Americans. Hate crimes against Asians in the West have spiked recently – a good thing Kim is here to set these fools straight.

Lizzo

The flute-playing, Grammy award-winning pop artist is full of positive vibes and joy. She posted an Instagram video of her hosting a mediation session with some flute playing, trying to alleviate the anxiety of her fans. “I think that fear can spread so much hatred and fear can spread so much negative energy and fear can spread the disease even quicker than the disease can,” she said. So, this was her attempt to empower the public, and we love her all the more for it.

Cardi B

Honestly, if she ran the US government, things would almost certainly be better. Earlier in March, the rap star posted a video on Instagram, which has now been remixed and landed on the music charts, saying that Covid-19 shouldn't be taken lightly. Since then, she has blamed the US government for mishandling the crisis.

Bill and Melinda Gates

The billionaire philanthropists have long warned that a global pandemic was on the horizon with the way humanity is invading the Earth. For years, they have been combating a host of diseases like Ebola and HIV through their foundation. On top of that, they have warned about climate change, invested in smarter agriculture and have been outspoken about the broken health care system in the US.

During this global crisis, both have been tweeting non-stop about the importance of human life over the economy. The economy can rebound, but you cannot bring someone back to life.

Yikes. Madge has really outdone herself by taking a video of herself in her bathtub filled with rose petals and calling the virus the “great equaliser”. She then deleted the video, probably after the woozy haze of the hot bath subsided. Maybe not one of her best takes, but rest assured she has more, and you can see what other hi-jinx she is up to next in her “quarantine diaries”.

In his famous drawl, the folksy actor delivered an uplifting, soothing video on Instagram with the tagline: “because every red light eventually turns green”. Basically meaning that we will all prevail in the fight against this disease and in the meantime we should all be more kind and generous with each other. Altruism over becoming the “lowest common denominator and getting paranoid”.

Judi Dench

On her daughter’s Twitter, the Oscar-winner turns to the camera and tells us to “Just keep laughing”, while wearing a dog hat, probably taking a jab at her role in Cats . During these times, it’s not bad advice.
