We're not out of it - Stewart
Hong Kong's James Stewart and David Freeman fell from the top of the leaderboard at the World Cup golf qualifying in Malaysia yesterday after a disappointing second day. The pair shot a seven-over 78 and dropped to a tie for fourth.
Where the putts had been dropping on Wednesday, it was a struggle for Stewart and Freeman on the greens of the Seri Selangor Golf Club in the foursomes alternate shot format yesterday.
'We missed every single putt, except for making two birdies which we couldn't have missed as they were very close,' said Stewart. 'On the positive side, we're still not out of it.'
Hong Kong are level with Finland on 141 and looking up at a trio of joint leaders - India, the Philippines and Singapore. Shiv Kapur and Gaurav Ghei of India took advantage of the par-fives to reignite their qualifying campaign with a one-under-par 70.
India were the only team to break par on a tough scoring day as they joined Singapore's Mardan Mamat and Lam Chih Bing and the Philippines pair of Juvic Pagunsan and Gerald Rosales atop the leaderboard on four-under-par 138.
