TROUBLE IN RUNNING

STRAIGHT ARRON (G435) approaching the 1800M was eased when racing tight. Near the 1400M made contact with a runner when racing tight. As a result of that contact had to be checked when crowded. When questioned, rider stated that after his mount was checked near the 1400M, it failed to travel at any stage after that incident and, in his opinion, that was the reason for his mount failing to run on in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 624.

RUSSIAN EMPEROR (E198) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the race, rider stated that after being ridden into the event from the 650M, his mount responded reasonably well to his riding, however, its run ended near the 200M and would derive benefit from the performance. After the race was reported to be lame in its right front leg. Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 643.

LA CITY BLANCHE (G371) when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer stated that the horse was advantaged by being stepped up in distance, particularly in circumstances where he was advised after the last start by that rider that the horse was looking for additional distance - Race 643.

SENOR TOBA (G103) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 643.

MASSIVE SOVEREIGN (J208) near the 1400M made contact with a runner, became unbalanced, shifted out and lost ground. From the 450M until the 400M had some difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned behind a runner. When questioned, rider stated that his mount failed to handle the "Yielding" track conditions and was under pressure from the middle stages. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 624.
