At least six people were injured after two Hong Kong minibuses and a truck collided in Kowloon Bay on Sunday afternoon.

Police said four men and two women, aged between 17 and 76, were hurt when the vehicles crashed on Kwun Tong Road as they headed towards Choi Hung.

They added a 76-year-old minibus driver suffered injuries to his face and head and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Yau Ma Tei. The five other passengers were taken to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong.

A police spokeswoman said the force was alerted to the incident at about 2.30pm and sent three ambulances to the scene near Kai Yip Estate.

Images from city media showed that the front of one of the minibuses was damaged, with its windscreen smashed and that a tow truck had arrived to remove the vehicle.

The Transport Department said the affected traffic lanes on Kwun Tong Road reopened at around 3.30pm.
