Twitter conversations peaked at 12 tweets per second on Sunday as the world watched Hong Kong's civil disobedience movement for genuine democracy unfold.

Twitter has given a visualisation of the conversation about Hong Kong on the social media platform over the last few days, following a request by the South China Morning Post.

The conversation peaked at 12 tweets per second on Sunday as the world watched the city's civil disobedience movement for genuine democracy unfold.

There were about 1.3 millions tweets on Hong Kong's democracy movement over the last four days, a spokesman said on Tuesday.
