Taiwanese-American Dara Huang has carved out a name for herself in architecture, opening her own firm and co-founding another after working under some of the biggest names in Europe.
Aside from her royal connections, the Harvard-educated architect has found tremendous success in her own right. Born in the US to parents who immigrated from Taiwan, Huang’s father was a rocket scientist, having worked for Nasa.

She worked at renowned architecture firms Herzog and de Meuron in Switzerland and Foster and Partners in London – while there, she took part in landmark projects, including London’s Tate Modern II museum.
In 2013, she established her firm Design Haus Liberty, and later co-founded Vivahouse, which specialises in converting abandoned commercial spaces into co-living projects. Her work has also found its way to Asia, setting up an outpost in Hong Kong in 2019 and working on projects in China.
The talented designer revealed that organic forms and nature often inspire her, per Home Journal – as well as the other designers and architects at Design Haus Liberty.
Besides bringing that aesthetic to life in her work, she’s also created a series of shorts on Instagram that offer short and sweet tips to her followers on elevating their living space and creating harmony at home.
