Luxury watchmaker Blancpain commits to ocean conservation effort at World Ocean Summit

Ocean Summit

By renewing its commitment to The Economist Events’ World Ocean Summit, Blancpain celebrated the launch of the World Ocean Summit in Mexico.

The World Ocean Summit took place at the Riviera Maya in Mexico from March 7 to 9, where government leaders, companies, NGOs and universities came together to discuss the issue of sustainable development.

Blancpain supports the World Ocean Summit for the fifth year.

At the summit, organised by The Economist, Blancpain extended its contribution to the project which reflects the brand’s intimate connection to the ocean and core values: long-term vision, optimism and innovation.

The Swiss watchmaker has a special relationship with the ocean, ever since the presentation of its first diving watch, Fifty Fathoms, in 1953. Since then, it has intensified its commitment to ocean conservation through multiple initiatives and partnerships.

This was the fifth time that Blancpain has supported the World Ocean Summit since its inaugural edition in 2012.
