Of course we can always rely on Graff and Van Cleef & Arpels to bring the bling whatever the occasion. And they’ve delivered in style this season with a handful of rings rocking huge yellow diamonds or beaded with gold and coloured stones.

Then for the more mechanically minded perhaps, we have a natty pair of cufflinks channelling infinity itself for a truly timeless look.

Finally, we have a surprising entrant to our shortlist from a brand best known previously for their perfumes but that are now branching out into jewellery.

Playful and elegant, these rings from Van Cleef & Arpels are part of the French jeweller’s Perlée collection, characterised by its gold bead motif. They all feature five rows of gold beads enlivened with an oblique band of precious stones – sapphires, emeralds or rubies – held in place by polished gold nails set between each stone.

Byredo, the lifestyle brand known for its fragrances and candles, has forayed into a new category: fine jewellery. The range, with pieces in yellow gold and silver, is named Virasaat, which means “inheritance” in Hindi, and is a nod to founder Ben Gorham’s Indian heritage. Based on the concepts of piercing and adorning, the collection is centred on two key motifs: interlocking rounded pearls and graphic bars.
