Charlotte Casiraghi and her husband Dimitri Rassam are calling it quits after four years of marriage together, according to French publication Voici News.

The granddaughter of the late Princess Grace of Monaco and the son of French actress Carole Bouquet tied the knot in 2019, and have one son together, according to US media.

According to People, the rumoured exes “have not yet confirmed” the split. The Voici News report quotes a source claiming they had been going through a rough patch for some time already, with Rassam reportedly working too much and not spending enough time with the family.

US media also noted that Casiraghi wanted to stay in Monaco for her children, while Rassam’s work as a film producer requires him to travel a lot.

Casiraghi, 37, and Rassam, 42, first announced their engagement back in 2018, and had two marriage celebrations the following year, per US media. Their civil ceremony took place in Monaco’s Palace Throne Room in June 2019, followed by a separate religious ceremony in Provence, France, shortly afterwards. According to Vanity Fair, the bride stunned onlookers in a couture Chanel wedding gown and a Cartier necklace once owned by her grandmother for her big day.

Rassam and Casiraghi come from similar backgrounds in the sense that they’re both the relatives of famous people. Rassam is the son of Carole Bouquet, a former Bond girl, and Casiraghi is the daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and Stefano Casiraghi.

They also both studied at Paris’ prestigious Sorbonne University, and have children from previous relationships, per People. They now share a son, Balthazar, who’s five, per Voici News.

Rassam is a Lebanese-French film producer who has worked on films including The Little Prince, Playmobil: The Movie and The Three Musketeers, per his IMDB. Recent reports suggest that the two are going to get divorced.

2. Lamberto Sanfelice

The Monégasque royal started seeing Italian director Lamberto Sanfelice in 2015 after they met at a film festival, according to People. However, it fizzled out not long after as they are believed to have called things off by 2016, per the same source.

3. Gad Elmaleh

Before marrying Rassam, the socialite and model found romance with actor and stand-up comedian Gad Elmaleh, who she began dating in 2011 after meeting him at a party, per People. He is widely regarded as one of the country’s top comedians and “the Seinfeld of France”.

The Chanel ambassador and the Moroccan-born Midnight in Paris star – who have a 16-year age gap – were notoriously private about their relationship until they went public in 2013. The pair have a child together, Raphael Elmaleh, but reportedly broke up in 2015, per People.

Although she has royal blood and is 11th in line to the throne of Monaco, Casiraghi doesn’t hold a princess title. “I’m not a princess,” she once told Vogue Paris. “My mother is, not me. I am the niece of a head of state. And with this status, I have some representational duties, nothing very constraining or very exceptional.”
